"Improvisation is so important to having a well-rounded musical life." - Bobby McFerrin
Bobby McFerrin is a genius in many ways, but I am lately most inspired by his recommendation that musicians spend significant time every day improvising. His devotion to the practice, which borders on meditation, hones the ability to communicate musical ideas as clearly as the spoken word, though without the aid of concrete language.
Taking my cue from Mr. Mcferrin (who is very much alive while being the subject of a very bizarre death hoax), here's an improvised song from 3/4/14. It was 15 degrees outside so my from the depths of my consciousness came a song about the cold. Not too surprising a subject in the middle of winter.
